Give an account of your management, because you cannot be manager any longer.\u2019<br><sup>3&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cThe manager said to himself, \u2018What shall I do now? My master is taking away my job. I\u2019m not strong enough to dig, and I\u2019m ashamed to beg\u2014&nbsp;<sup>4&nbsp;<\/sup>I know what I\u2019ll do so that, when I lose my job here, people will welcome me into their houses.\u2019<br><sup>5&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cSo he called in each one of his master\u2019s debtors. He asked the first, \u2018How much do you owe my master?\u2019<br><sup>6&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201c\u2018Nine hundred gallons of olive oil,\u2019 he replied. \u201cThe manager told him, \u2018Take your bill, sit down quickly, and make it four hundred and fifty.\u2019<br><sup>7&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cThen he asked the second, \u2018And how much do you owe?\u2019 \u201c\u2018A thousand bushels of wheat,\u2019 he replied. \u201cHe told him, \u2018Take your bill and make it eight hundred.\u2019<br><sup>8&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cThe master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light.&nbsp;<sup>9&nbsp;<\/sup>I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.<br><sup>10&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cWhoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.&nbsp;<sup>11&nbsp;<\/sup>So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?&nbsp;<sup>12&nbsp;<\/sup>And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else\u2019s property, who will give you property of your own?<br><sup>13&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cNo one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.\u201d<br><sup>14&nbsp;<\/sup>The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and were sneering at Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Isaiah 65: 17-25<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><sup>17&nbsp;<\/sup>\u201cLook, I will make new heavens and a new earth,<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; and people will not remember the past<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; or think about those things.<br><sup>18&nbsp;<\/sup>My people will be happy forever<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; because of the things I will make.<br>I will make a Jerusalem that is full of joy,<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; and I will make her people a delight.<br><sup>19&nbsp;<\/sup>Then I will rejoice over Jerusalem<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; and be delighted with my people.<br>There will never again be heard in that city<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; the sounds of crying and sadness.<br><sup>20&nbsp;<\/sup>There will never be a baby from that city<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; who lives only a few days.<br>And there will never be an older person<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; who doesn\u2019t have a long life.<br>A person who lives a hundred years will be called young,<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; and a person who dies before he is a hundred will be thought of as a sinner.<br><sup>21&nbsp;<\/sup>In that city those who build houses will live there.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; Those who plant vineyards will get to eat their grapes.<br><sup>22&nbsp;<\/sup>No more will one person build a house and someone else live there.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; One person will not plant a garden and someone else eat its fruit.<br>My people will live a long time,<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; as trees live long.<br>My chosen people will live there<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; and enjoy the things they make.<br><sup>23&nbsp;<\/sup>They will never again work for nothing.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; They will never again give birth to children who die young.<br>All my people will be blessed by the Lord;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; they and their children will be blessed.<br><sup>24&nbsp;<\/sup>I will provide for their needs before they ask,<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; and I will help them while they are still asking for help.<br><sup>25&nbsp;<\/sup>Wolves and lambs will eat together in peace.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; Lions will eat hay like oxen,<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; and a snake on the ground will not hurt anyone.<br>They will not hurt or destroy each other<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; on all my holy mountain,\u201d<br>says the Lord.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To listen from here, click the links below or right-click + save link as\u2026 to download the audio file.
